Floating World Opens Webmaster-Centered News Section

LOS ANGELES — The Floating World Adult Industry Portal has expanded its popular news aggregation service by opening a webmaster-specialized resource and news area, site publisher Terri Redor told XBiz Thursday.

In the past, the Floating World used a proprietary software to index headlines and articles geared toward the adult video industry every hour. The portal’s new webmaster section will use the same technology to provide constantly updated information from 16 different news and information sites like YNOT, XBiz and Pimp Café.

“It’s meant to be the first place that webmasters check to find the pulse of the industry,” said the Floating World site programmer and publisher. “Having all the latest headlines in one place means you can keep on top of all the news without a lot of effort.”

According to Redor, one of the forces that drove the Floating World into producing a webmaster-centric section is the wide acclaim that the original adult business news aggregation service received.

“It’s been a hit with industry people,” said Redor. “On [the adult video] side of the business, we pull headlines from twenty-seven industry news sources, on the hour, every hour. We also list all the hourly updates from both sides of the industry on our homepage, to make it easier to read the very latest news all at once.”

“Once I started doing adult video news, I figured it just made sense to this,” Redor said. “The news feeds are really valuable to publicists and people who want to keep track of where the stuff they put out is going.”

The new webmaster section will also include a page of top-level resource listings for affiliate programs, TGPs, content sources and message boards. The new section also will include a calendar system that lists yearly webmaster events.
